Food: BARF!

BARF: "Biologically Appropriate Raw Food"

For 10 years, we fed our dogs and puppies kibble, good kibble without dyes and without GMOs. It was very practical, and we felt like we were giving the best to our dogs!
But today, after a long period of hesitation due mainly to the high price, but also to storage difficulties, we have finally decided to switch to a “Barf” diet: A natural diet based on raw meat intended for carnivorous animals. .

How it works ?

How it works ?
The Barf diet does not consist of only giving meat or table scraps todogs. A balanced serving is 70 percent meat and bones(including approximately 15 percent bones), 15 percent fruits and vegetables, 15percent offal and fish oil.
It is also advisable to give themonce a week a fish meal (same weight as a classic portion) and
eggs once a week. Whole eggs including the shell.
As an adult, the dog will eat approximately 2.5 percent of its body weight. More, if it is asporting dog, less if it is a “couch” dog.
Generally speaking, untilthe age of 9 months is at will. If the puppy completely empties his bowl, do not hesitate
not to give him any, within reason.

Fortunately, there are ready-made mixes that are more practical and perfectly balanced.

We opted for ready-made portions via the company Easy Barf. It is a French company, all of whose products are made in France, using 100% French meats, fruits and vegetables. All products are guaranteed to be free of chemical additives, preservatives, colorings and flavor enhancers.

What are the advantages of Barf?
For us, it has become obvious, you just have to see our dogs throw themselves at their bowl to be convinced that this food suits them better than any other.

Additionally, their bowel movements are reduced by 60%. No more huge mountains to collect in the garden, but small, hard droppings that disappear very quickly. Why do they disappear so quickly? Because there is no preservative! The stools dry quickly and break up into powder. Their smell is less strong.

No need to provide water at all times, because the Barf is so complete (because it is not dry) that the dog no longer needs water to digest properly. No more putting clean water 3 times a day. No more following our dogs around the house with a mop to wipe off the water running from their beards. No more having to take the dogs out every 4 hours to pee, as they drink less, they urinate less! cqfd!

Finally, the teeth are more beautiful, their breath is perfect, the coat is shinier, and their general health is simply improved.

And the icing on the cake is seeing your dog snub the new veterinarian who is trying to make friends by offering him kibble. Reaction from the veterinarian: "Oh yes, it's true, she's in the barf. So my kibble..."

Why is there no special puppy Barf?

Once the weaning period has passed, puppies eat the same food as adults, like other breeds of animals: fish, tigers, wolves, etc. only the proportions change.
So why puppy kibble? Quite simply because in adult kibble, there is only the vital minimum, so they are not rich enough to allow good growth. Hence the need to make richer puppy kibble... No need for that with the Barf, as the food is more complete no need for a special puppy type. Just increase the proportions. Well thought out, well balanced, the Barf is complete in itself.
PLEASE NOTE: Feeding your dog at Barf does not mean only giving your dog meat or table scraps!
What if I don't want to give BARF to my puppy?
Nothing could be easier, just stop the barf COMPLETELY and give him some kibble. Above all, do not mix barf and kibble, the ph for digestion is not the same.
