The best of breeder work

Since 2023, we have two litters per year, one in summer and one in winter. It wasn't always the case, but today we've arranged the house so that the little ones have space inside and outside even when the weather isn't great. And what's more, one of us is retired! This way, we have plenty of time to take care of the babies. That's what family breeding is all about...
"No one is a prophet in his own country" could be the Barbet motto.
Indeed, the Barbet is a breed with a small population. To give you an idea, there are an average of 9,000 Labrador births in France compared to 40 for the Barbet. So, indeed, each litter is important and each birth is an event for the breed on French soil!
But for us, a litter is much more than just numbers on a listing. It's a grand adventure that begins several years before the puppies are born.

We plan our matings two to three years in advance. Then, we wait for the puppies to grow and run the necessary tests to ensure they will be the breeding stock we're hoping for. When a litter finally arrives, it's already the culmination of a long process, and the births come like a gift, the icing on the cake.At birth, our entire life is turned upside down. Little ones occupy all our time, our days and our nights. They make us laugh and sometimes cry, but in any case, they remind us that life can be beautiful.

Since 2009, we've delivered over 150 puppies. And births are always delicate and dangerous. But with time, all that remains are the beautiful memories and the joy of the new owners leaving with their puppy.
